ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Filemon, Filemon went to catch some fish in the sea;
He was able to get, to get a mudskipper fish;
He sold it, sold it at a dilapidated market stall;
For it he got nothing much, nothing much,
Just enough to buy tuba.

Bisaya Adjectives for Humor

The Cebuano language sure has has an abundance of words that describe negative physical traits. But for me, this rich vocabulary of adjectives specific to negative physical attributes does not equate to the Visayans being too critical, too focused on beauty (and lack thereof), or being bullies. Instead it signifies their humor that could sometimes be applied to self (aka self deprecating) and their love for jokes and laughter. At the end of the day, the Bisdaks just want to have a good time with friends laughing over trivial matters at the expense of one's perceived negative physical attribute. Below are just some of such Bisaya words.
